Week 6 Assignment: Current Event – Free and Fair Trade or Budgetary Issue

United States politics are dominated by two ideologies: conservatism and liberalism. The federal budget is not immune to the influences of the two ideologies. For instance, conservatives often favor free markets, a balanced budget, and deregulation (Whitman, 2019). On the other hand, liberals favor progressive taxation as a measure of wealth distribution, market regulation to protect consumers from being exploited, and deficit spending (Whitman, 2019). The term balanced budget is used to refer to an event in which the collected revenues meet a government’s expenditure. The opposite is a deficit. It arises when expenditures exceed the collected revenues (Whitman, 2019). The national budget in the country has been on the rise since the 9/11 attack. The federal government increased spending on cleaning up the affected site, defense, and bailouts. In late March, the government added to the national deficit after it approved a $2 trillion economic stimulus package. This article explores the launched stimulus economic package and its relevance, beneficiaries, those negatively affected, and the issue at hand.

Secondly, just before it was approved, representative Thomas Massie from Kentucky sought to further delay the process by calling for a formal roll-call vote (Cochrane & Stolberg, 2020). However, Republicans and Democrats united and managed to get the bill passed and signed into law…..Click link below to purchase full tutorial at $10
