Abortion remains a highly debated topic globally based on two main foundations of ethics and laws. According to Marquis (2017), the abortion debate is mainly centered on evaluating whether it is morally justified to terminate a pregnancy prior to childbirth. While there are those that believe that abortion is wrong, others support the practice although this is dependent on the situation such as the mother’s child being at risk. The laws, politics, and activism, on the other hand, are based on one’s rights with their body and being forced to carry the foetus against their wish. Healthcare providers and social workers are required to understand the different laws that relate to abortion and while addressing the situation if it presents, sharing the information with the client is imperative as it informs them on the associated details and regulations.
Understanding the Abortion Laws

Essential to note is that since the 1973 decision in the case involving Doe v. Bolton and Roe v. Wade, further laws have been constructed, codified, regulated, and restructured to establish the exact situation when a woman should terminate their pregnancy (Guttmacher Institute, 2018). ..Please click the icon below to purchase full solution at $10
