Step 1: Read the following case study:
A nurse has an order to complete a procedure on a patient. After reading the procedure, the nurse notices that it is not best practice and it has not been updated for 6 years. The nurse takes this issue to the nurse leader (charge nurse) and the nurse manager (unit manager).
Step 2: Your first post is based on the first letter of your last name. For example, if your last name is Smith, you would answer the nurse manager question. Please review the differences in these roles before posting.

Solution:
My last name starts with B and thus, I would respond to the nurse as a nurse leader. I would begin with appreciating the nurse for her diligent and efforts to ensure the best and quality care delivery to our patients. I would also congratulate her for staying current with the changes in practice and policies in nurses. I would work with the nurse to review the procedure and find the best and current evidence that supports the change in practice. After this, I would communicate to the management about the changes, share with the nurses via their work emails, and also request for a meeting to enlighten the nurses on the new practice. I would encourage the nurses to practice evidence-based practice (EBP)…..Click link below to purchase full tutorial at $5
