In the recent past, the healthcare structure of the United States has witnessed a substantial transformation. This has to a huge extent been attributed to the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), which has increased the number of people seeking medical attention in the country.  With this increase of patient population, a wide range of interprofessional teams have been developed in most of the healthcare settings in order to effectively coordinate care (American Nurses Association, 2015).
