Berwick, D., Snair, M., & Nishtar, S. (2018). Crossing the global health care quality chasm: A key component of universal health coverage. Journal of American Medical Association, 320(13), 1317-1318.
Read the Berwick article and reflect on the concepts and practices you have learned in NR506 on healthcare systems, politics, and health policy. Reflections should include:
- How to make informed decisions on nursing practice and patient outcomes on a global basis. In addition, state how you will apply what you have learned in this course to your upcoming practicum experience.
- Describe how one will apply content from NR506NP to the upcoming clinical courses
Evidence is considered an important element of quality care, which makes it integral to improving the healthcare system. Therefore, one way of making informed decisions on nursing practices and patient outcomes on a global basis is through evidence-informed decision making. This typically involves a continuous interactive process that involves explicit conscientious as well as judicious consideration of the best available evidence to provide care. Healthcare providers, therefore, ought to use science-based interventions to improve health win the community. Some of the resources that nurses can use to facilitate the use of evidence include systematic reviews and research studies among other valid and clinically useful studies that are published. This has been emphasized by Emparanza, Cabello & Burls (2015) in their study that evidence-based practices improve patients outcomes. Please click the icon below to purchase the full solution at $5
