Teen Depression and Suicidal Attempts
According to Daviss (2018), the suicide resulting from depression is the third leading mortality cause amongst teens aged 13 to 19 years. Suicide incidences among teen are rare before puberty, but reach peak during the mid-adolescent stage. As stated by Stenbacka, Samuelsson, Nordström and Jokinen (2018), 80% of teens who attempt suicide and 90% of teen who commit suicide suffer or have a history of psychiatric or mental disorders which include bipolar disorder, depression, conduct disorder, substance abuse, anxiety disorders and aggressive behavior patterns. The Problem facing Teen Depression

Many health organizations, stakeholders and governments have turned a blind eye to teen depressions and are reluctant to enabling the research for evidence based intervention to facilitate the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of teen depressions.
