The key issue I have encountered during my practicum is the rising number of teens suffering depression and attempting suicide. At least 15% of teen patients that I have handled in the mental unit suffer depression following psychological, emotional or physical trauma. Subsequently, due to depression 3 out of 10 had suicidal attempts while others were contemplating on committing suicide. This triggered immense concerns regarding teen depression management in light of prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
