According to Molloy (2013), the emic and etic perspectives have equally long pedigree when it comes to religion. Taking this into consideration, this essay seeks to explore the emic and etic perspectives on Christianity, which is my religion.

The emic or inside perspective typically follows the various the tradition of various psychological studies in an attempt to understand religion from the native point of view. As such, it can be argued that the emic perspective of Christianity usually focuses on the intrinsic dimensions that are regarded useful to Christians.
