(Answered)MATH225N Week 5 Discussion: The Normal Distribution

Initial Post Instructions

Many variables in medicine follow a normal distribution where there are approximately an equal number of values below the mean as above the mean. Describe two variables that you work with that would probably follow a normal distribution. Also note which of the two variables would be likely to have a larger standard deviation and why.

Follow-Up Post Instructions

Respond to at least two peers or one peer and the instructor. Further the dialogue by providing more information and clarification.

Writing Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 posts (1 initial & 2 follow-up)
  • APA format for in-text citations and list of references

Solution:

According to Holmes, Illowsky, and Dean (2019), normal distribution “is the most important of all distributions”. When mapped out, it creates a bell-shaped curve. As most variables fall within this distribution, it is common to see bell-shaped curves in a variety of disciplines such as mathematics, nursing, economics, and business. It is, however, limited to the distribution of population data….Click link below to purchase full tutorial at $5
